Trick - Bullet POV

If you have seen "The Matrix", you'll be aware of that epic scene where Neo dodges a bunch of bullets. It's iconic. While shooting that scene, they used 120 cameras each individually controlled by a central computer. What a headache.

Today, you've got the ONE X, and with it, you can make your own Matrix style shots.

Tutorial:

Shooting Equipment: Insta360 ONE X + Invisible Selfie Stick

Step 1: Choose your setting.

The distance between the “shooter” and the “dodger” should be at least 20 meters. The longer the distance is, the cooler the effect will be.

Step 2: Mount your ONE X on the Invisible Selfie Stick

We suggest 4K50fps mode.

Step 3: Start shooting

Aim the ONE X's lenses, one facing the "shooter", and the other facing the "dodger", the photographer should move smoothly from the “shooter” to the “dodger”, then over the dodgers head as they limbo.

If you're feeling fancy, you could try the bullet bending effect as seen in the movie Wanted

Step 4: Post-production

Connect your ONE X to your phone. Open the ONE X App, download the original video from the camera, crop out the parts you need, and then edit as follows:

1. Frame your shot and set a Pivot Point: The starting scene should be of the “shooter”, then, set another Pivot point on the dodger.

When the bullet flies over the "dodger", set pivot points accordingly to rotate the perspective back to the "shooter".

2. Adjust the speed: After "shooting" the bullet, gradually increase the speed ramping to 2x>4x>16x speeds. Once the bullet reaches the dodger, slow it way down to 1/2x speed.

3. Use the newly-added "Loop" function in the iOS app. (how do I Loop?)

4. Export the video and share it to the Insta360 Community. They'll love it!

Tips

1. To avoid the photographer appearing in the shot, keep 0.5-1 meters to the side of the subjects.

2. After the camera passes over the “dodger”, it'll be better to keep shooting for an extra few yards.

3. Use props for realism.

4. "Loop" is currently only supported by iOS app, v1.3.0 or higher. Android is coming soon!

Note: When shooting at scenes such as road sides, stay safe!
