Trick - Fire Sparks

With a ONE X, a lighter and some steel wool, you can get mind bending firework-like shots. Here’s how:

Shooting Equipment: Insta360 ONE X，Invisible Selfie Stick

1. Adjust your video settings:

After connecting to your phone, adjust the resolution & frame rate to 3K100FPS, set the shutter speed to 1/500 s, and ISO to 400.

2. Preparation

You’ll need a few things for this challenge:

1) Some steel wool (Cut to a length of 15-30cm)

2) Something to hold the steel wool and swing over your head (we used an iron clamp and a 1m long chain).

3) Your ONE X and selfie stick

Fold your precut steel wool into 3 layers, and then secure the wool in your clamp or clip. Hold your ONE X out in front of you, with the selfie stick adjusted to about 1 meter.

3. Swing and record

Set your steel wool alight and swing like a madman overhead. With your free hand, hold the selfie stick and record the action.

Attention: Please wear long sleeves, long trousers, gloves and a hat to prevent the sparks from burning you. Play safe!

4. Reframe to follow the action.

After shooting, connect the camera to your phone. Then open the app, select what you have just shot and download it. Long-press to select ViewFinder. With viewfinder, hold the red button to record while moving your phone around for the coolest angles. Have fun with it!

Shooting parameters:

Shutter speed: The length of time when the film or digital sensor inside the camera is exposed to light. When exposed under the same light, the faster the shutter speed, the darker the picture.

Insta360 ONE X can be manually set the shutter speed from 1/8000 to 1/100 S

ISO: Camera sensitivity. The lower the ISO, the lower the light sensitivity; the higher the ISO, the higher the light sensitivity. High ISO is suitable for shooting in low light conditions, but as the sensitivity increases, the quality of the picture will generally decrease.

Insta360 ONE X can manually set ISO from 100 to 3200, so you’re set for a wide range of lighting conditions.

Resolution & Frame rate: 3K100FPS

Shutter Speed: 1/240 S

ISO: 400
