iPad Landscape mode

After the latest update the promised landscape mode on iPad is not working - not sue if I am missing something but can’t find any function or setting that will give landscape mode, have locked the iPad orientation but the current portrait mode overrides that as well - anyone else having the same issue, I am running the latest iPad update on a 2020 iPad Pro
