Resolution on photos (360 x3)

I just bought the Insta360 x3 and trying to figure out how to take quality photos. I’m a complete newbie to this and struggling to find guidance re photography (plenty out there on taking videos though).

I’ve set it on 72MP and using 360 regular photo option (not HDR) and the photos are coming through quite low res. Photos are much sharper on my iPhone 10. Videos definitely look great though on the x3.

Any thoughts on what I need to do differently? I’ve cleaned the lens!
