Charging the 360 R while in use?

I read somewhere that charging the 360 R while in use may cause extra strain on the battery. I know this device and an iPhone are two very different pieces of tech but there's no caution given to charging an iPhone while in use and in fact we all know almost everyone does it daily.

I know that you can plug a powerbank straight into the camera and run it without a battery but it fits in its case better with the battery attached so I'd like to get some validation on wether or not to use the powerbank with the battery attached or without and if there are any actual reasons not to use powerbanks for extended recording.
