Cut and delete parts of video

Hi,

I have been away from shooting footage for a while but fortunately the app is very intuitive and most simple edits worked well. Good and quick software.

The only thing I have problem with is cutting out parts of a video. Yesterday I had 15 minutes of video with many dull passages I wanted to cut away.

When I use the "jump cut" feature it seems I must go through the whole video and once and for all decide what to cut away. If I change my mind about a detail later, must I then repeat the whole process?

Have I misunderstood this? Is there a way around this problem?

When I look through the video the first time there are some parts I can say 100% I want to cut away. Is there a way to do this and later refine the cutting without redoing every cut for the whole video?

Is it maybe possible to split the 15 minute video into 5 three-minute videos and redo jump-cutting for just one part and finally join the parts.

Or maybe split the video into parts where I just skip some parts when I rejoin them?

In the future I could also try to stop and restart the camera regularly during shooting. But the camera is up on a stick and I ride a bike. It could be done from the phone but software would be more convenient.
