1-Inch Mod Ultra Wide Angle is it set by Firmware can it go Wider?

Is the 1-Inch mod ultra wide angle is the limitation set by the firmware can it go even wider? Ultrawide setting seems to be the same as wide or narrow with other action cams and I'd like to swtich to using the Insta One R 1-inch mode if it can go wider.

If this is a phicycal limitation by the lens then I'll know I can't switch if it's a matter of tweaking firmware and Insta developers are going to make the change soon I'll wait it out.
