X4 Water ingress to battery

I have had a Fuji 35mm cameras waterproof camera a Canon APS-C waterproof camera, a Panasonic digital waterproof camera, Garmin VIRB XE action cameras and GoPros. I know about checking seals and closing battering and charging doors etc. before using them around water.

I recently bought an X4 and I have been really impressed....until I used it on my paddleboard

It slipped off the board briefly so got wet for a few seconds just.

That was enough to let water into the battery compartment and ruin the camera.

Is it only me who has had this problem?
